WIGAN Warriors will be on the road to face Catalan Dragons on Saturday for their fourth game of the Super 8’s in an attempt to encourage fans from London to get involved in Rugby League.
Despite this game being scheduled as a Wigan home game, the match will take place in the capital at ‘The Den’; home ground of Millwall football club.
Both teams head into the game on the back of a two-week break following the Challenge Cup Final last weekend between Leeds Rhinos and Hull KR.
The Catalan Dragons have surprised many with their form in the Super 8’s having only lost one game under the new format including a win away to the champions St. Helens.
Laurent Frayssinous’ side will be without centre Ben Pomeroy whose season has ended early when he received a six match ban for his ‘suplex’ on Castleford’s Ashley Gibson. Thibaut Margalet is his replacement.
Wigan will be without Liam Farrell who is expected to be out for around four weeks after picking up a knock during training. Prop Ryan Sutton also misses out.
Anthony Gelling and Taulima Tautai come in to the Wigan match day squad as a result whilst winger Joe Burgess also returns at the expense of Ryan Hampshire.
