STUDENTS are being urged to get down to Moor Lane this weekend with entry for Salford City FC’s league match against Rushall Olympic only £2. 

Undergraduates and postgraduates from all universities must show their student ID cards to get the discounted admission for the 3pm kick-off on Saturday afternoon (September 19).

The offer also applies to Under 16s and Over 60s while up to three children under the age of 16 get in free with a paying adult.

Salford City, who play in the Evo-Stik Premier Division after being crowned First Division North champions last season, will be hoping to clinch their first home win of the campaign at the sixth attempt.

Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley’s team sit sixth in the seventh tier of English football after eight games, level on 14 points with fourth-placed Nantwich Town and Frickley Athletic in fifth.

The visitors from Walsall, who are currently 12th in the table, will present a stiff test having lost only once so far but are the division’s draw specialists with five of their games finishing level.
