After the recent chaos that Kanye West caused on the release of his Yeezy Boost 350’s, stores in Manchester are changing their approach in sales for the latest release of the Yeezy Boost 750.

The change came about after over 100 people were seen camping outside both international luxury lifestyle stores Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, up to 3 days before the release time.

Everyone wants a piece of Kanye West – especially when it comes to his trainers. Which is why Harvey Nichols is clamping down to make the newest pair of trainers a limited edition product.

The store will not allow anyone to queue outside following a new procedure of a raffle draw that has been put in place. The Selfridges store in Exchange Square will not be selling the product.

Harvey Nichols employee explains: “In order to be able to purchase the trainers, each individual must download our rewards app and show that in store. Our team will then put the individual’s details into our system and will be put into a raffle for selection. Those names that are pulled out will be able to purchase the product.”

“We have done this because it makes the product even more limited to our customers. After the previous release we had people queueing for 3 days, camping in tents. We are a luxurious store, and although the product is very high end and we feel privileged to be able to sell it, it is not very reputable for our company, to have tents outside our store.”

“There was also a large build-up of rubbish from the campers.”

Suleman Al-K, who queued for 18 hours for the release of the Yeezy Boosts 350 said: “It probably is a better idea, I was lucky to get some last time after joining the queue late. I’m just hoping that I’ll be lucky enough to have my name pulled out this time.”

A statement from the Adidas website by Kanye West reads: ‘The sneaker is exquisitely designed featuring beautiful yet simple materials. Premium suede and a full length BOOST midsole combine to create the YEEZY BOOST 750.’
