A MAN’S body has been found in a burning tent just outside of Manchester City Centre.

The Fire Service was called at around 1am on Wednesday morning after calls were made to alert them to a fire underneath a derelict railway bridge next to New Bailey Street car park in Salford.

A GMP spokesperson confirmed that officers arrived at the scene, near Salford Central train station at around 1.20am where they made the discovery of a body within the tent.

It is unknown how the fire started.
