FORMER and current players of Manchester clubs have taken to social media to remember the inventor of the ‘Cruyff turn’.

The Manchester footballing community has paid tribute to Dutch footballing great Johan Cruyff, who died from cancer today aged 68.

Cruyff was both a player and manager at club sides Ajax Amsterdam and FC Barcelona and won the Ballon d’Or award three times in the 70s.

His son Jordi made over 50 appearances for Manchester United from 1996 to 2000.
