MANCHESTER Giants have signed former Sheffield Sharks guard Samuel Toluwase ahead of Sunday’s BBL game against London Lions.

Toluwase, 31, played in the Sharks BBL Play-off Final triumph over Leicester Riders in May and will be a welcome addition to Yorick Williams’ new-look line-up.

Nigerian-born Toluwase has previously played in Iceland, Italy and China.

He said: “I’ve been good friends with Yorick for a while and I know what he expects and what he wants.

“He knew of my situation at Sheffield and we kept in contact. The club offered me a deal, I came to practice and saw that I could contribute so I am pleased to have signed.

“I’ve watched a few games and I feel like I can bring the intensity and leadership to help out. I never give up on a second chance shot and I’m a defensive stopper.

“I know it’s been a tough start to the season for the Giants but I’ve been in these situations before, at Essex.

“You can come from nothing to something, it’s the team that works hardest and digs deep. We’ve got nothing to lose now.

“The other teams have something to lose as they will be expected to beat us. We’ve got to forget the past and push forward now.”
