SINGER Pete Burns has died of a heart attack age 57.

The vocalist died on Sunday after suffering a cardiac arrest.

A statement released by his management said: “It is with the greatest sadness that we have to break the tragic news that our beloved Pete Burns (of Dead Or Alive), died suddenly yesterday of a massive cardiac arrest.

“All of his family and friends are devastated by the loss of our special star.

“He was a true visionary, a beautiful talented soul, and he will be missed by all who loved and appreciated everything he was and all of the wonderful memories the has left us with.

“We have no more words, we will make a further statement when we have had a chance to come to terms with our devastating loss.

“He will live forever in our memories.

“Sending you all our love. Lynne, Michael, Steve.”

Wirral born Burns achieved fame as part of the band Dead or Alive, achieving a number one with ‘You Spin Me Round’; one of the most iconic songs of the 1980s.

The group continued performing until 2011; however, Burns returned to the spotlight on Celebrity Big Brother, participating in the 2006 series – alongside controversial politician George Galloway, Jodie Marsh, and Goldie Lookin’ Chain’s Maggot – he made it to the final day in fifth place.

Tributes have already come flooding in from wider society for the singer, including television presenter Jamie East, DJ Matthew Rudd and MP Angela Rayner.
