OCTOBER has ended! The cobwebs are packed away and pumpkins rotted, which can only mean one thing –  Christmas! Our reporter Beccie Simms took a trip to newly opened The Dome in MediaCity to sample some festive drinks.

The Dome holds a lovely warm and homely feel, with autumnal trees and leaves spotted around the floor it made for the perfect festive bar and grill.

The ceiling was lit with rows of fairy lights and the tables lined with blankets to add to the cosy Winter Wonderland.

The music was extremely relaxing topped off with a good atmosphere, full of cheery workers finishing a busy day in the office off with a Christmassy treat.

After looking at the array of cocktails for about ten minutes, I finally decided to order the ‘Chocolate White

Russian’ which consisted of Tia Maria, Ketel One Vodka, Baileys Choco Luxe, Milk and Double Cream. I must say, I was quite nervous at first with the amount of alcohol going into such a short drink.

After tasting it, I can only say it tasted of Christmas. Cliché, I know. But the addition of milk made it the perfect drink; I could have had four more!

My friend and photographer, Lili Brewin ordered a French Martini which was served in a lovely, ice cold martini glass which looked amazing and tasted so sweet and fruity.

Despite being a cold drink in this freezing Salford weather, it worked perfectly!

The Dome also offers a selection of food such as toffee apples, schnitzels, and many more which looked incredible! I will definitely go back before Christmas to try some of the food.

In terms of pricing, it is more on the expensive side with most cocktails being around the £7-8 mark. However, for the experience, the drink and the friendly staff, it was absolutely worth it.

I would recommend The Dome to anyone out and about in MediaCityUK or Salford looking for a nice, cosy place to drink without feeling obliged to dress up.

To the bar staff at The Dome, I take my hat off to you!
