Christmas is traditionally a time to spread love, and Manchester Street Angels are appealing for people to spread this love a little further this year.
Manchester Street Angels have chosen their annual Christmas project to be in partnership with the homeless shoebox appeal.
The appeal calls for people to fill up a shoebox with both essential items and festive treats so that the thousands of homeless people all over the UK have something to open on Christmas day.
Rachel Goddard, 30, who is the Chair of the Street Angels, said, “It is just something small we can do to make a difference.”
The shoebox appeal is a great way to give something back to those who may be less fortunate during the Christmas period.
The Facebook page for the appeal has provided a list of the items that would be good to include in the box.
Items such as essential toiletries, warm clothing and food with a long shelf life are recommended, as well as a Christmas card with a message to the person receiving the gift.
