CROWDS lined the streets yesterday to watch hundreds of Salford Bikers complete the annual Vesperados Salford Santa Run.

Bikes, trikes and even some vintage cars, braved the cold weather and were loaded up with tinsel, fairy lights and presents as they made their journey from Pendlebury to the Manchester Children’s Hospital.

As well as members from the Vesperados, Greater Manchester’s fire service sent a fire engine and the Salford Knights Scooter Club sent a fleet of Santa-clad riders to help deliver special Christmas presents for those who wont be home for Christmas.

Vesperado member, Steve Brown said: “It really brings it home what Christmas is about.

“The expression on the children’s faces at the window is always absolutely fantastic as Christmas is one of the hardest times if you’re not well, especially if you’re a young child.”

The Santa run has previously donated the gifts to The Christie Hospital in Manchester, however due to maintenance work on-going at the hospital, it wasn’t logistically possible.
