WITH the star-studded X Factor final just days away, the remaining three finalists will battle it out at Wembley Stadium this weekend for the top prize of a record deal.

After the last girl standing, Emily Middlemas, left the competition at the final hurdle last weekend; early favourite Matt Terry remains in the running with three-piece boy band 5 After Midnight (5AM) and Finnish songstress, Saara Aalto.

The three remaining acts have had a busy week preparing to take to the stage with non-stop rehearsals and their homecoming gigs.

The contestants will each perform four times during Saturday evening’s show. These performances will include a repeat of their favourite performance from the series so far and the famous final duets.

Each year, the contestants in the X Factor final join up with famous faces on stage. Two of those star-studded duets were announced earlier this week: 5AM will team up with global super star The Weeknd and Saara is due to perform with Adam Lambert.

The artists each returned to their hometowns in order to gather up local support during their hectic week.

Saara took a trip home to Helsinki, where over 10,000 people gathered to see her return. The finalist is said to be ‘overwhelmed by the support both in the UK and Finland.’

It’s been a rocky road to the final for Saara, finding herself in the bottom two for the first two live shows. After emerging victorious from the sing-offs, the singer has bounced back and is ready to fight for the title with some odds pinning her as the new favourite.

Matt has also been campaigning for votes this week. The outhern heart-throb returned to his roots and performed at Market Square, Bromley where mentor, Nicole Scherzinger joined him to show her support.

Matt has been the favourite throughout the competition until he was left battling it out in the semi-final sing off with Emily, in order to secure his place in the final.

Last standing band, 5AM, held their homecoming performance in Leicester this week. The boys have also had a rollercoaster ride in their live show journey – finding themselves in the sing-off with rapper Honey G in the quarter final. However, the boys are prepared for a fight in the final.

This year has been one of the closest ever in the history of the show and statistics show that each of the final three have topped the public vote. It’s going to be difficult for anyone to call this year’s winner.

The X Factor Final will take to our screens on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 December on ITV – with each act performing the winners song, guest performances and all 12 finalists returning for a group performance.
