AMIR Khan and Kell Brook are “in talks” ahead of a proposed fight in May 2017, according to Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn.

Bolton-born Khan won the silver medal in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, and in May he said that Brook is not a “big enough name” to fight him.

However Khan tweeted the following, in the early hours of Wednesday morning:

Brook responded to Khan with his own tweet on social media, saying that he “looks forward to sending” the Bolton boxer “back to sleep.”

Hearn, who currently promotes the likes of Anthony Joshua and Anthony Crolla, told the BBC: “There’s a good chance of it happening. Amir wants it to happen, so does Kell. We want to put a fight on for the fans.”

Hearn also alluded to the fact that it’s possible that the venue for the clash would be at Manchester Arena due to Anthony Joshua’s heavyweight fight with Wladimir Klitschko taking place at Wembley Arena in April.
