MANCHESTER is a bubbling city of style and culture. It’s the capital of the North. It’s produced icons like Noel Gallagher, Ian Curtis and Brian Cox. It is essential then, whether walking down Market Street or heading out to Font or Fifth, to have a decent trim.

Of course, a traditional Manchester barbers can be busy, expensive or just a little while out the way. That’s why Manchester Metropolitan University students Ollie Neave, Lewis Owen, Phil Oldham and Ollie Davies have launched the new mobile barbers, ‘theunibarber’, which they dub “the Uber of haircuts.”

The idea is that lead barber Sab or another of his skilled team of barbers will come to the client’s house or halls and cut hair stylishly on the cheap.

“The plan came to us at the end of first year. We never ventured into the centre of Manchester for a trim because of the high prices. We felt if there was a service you could book a haircut at home without any hassle, and you could be hungover or in need of a quick trim, that’d suit your schedule,” says Neave.

Trims are booked in online via the website, the team turn up at your door with scissors, clippers and wax. The team are proficient barbers capable of quality fades, undercuts and any other style to keep you on trend.

Prices start at £10 for a single cut, though theunibarber offer group discount if the entire house fancies a fade. Haircuts can be cancelled up to 90 minutes before, so if there’s an emergency and you’ve got to dash that’s no problem.

Book a trim now on ‘theunibarber’ website.
