Two women have died after a car ran out of control in Withington Community hospital car park, West Didsbury, this afternoon.
The two victims have been identified as Clare Hallam, 44, and Deborah Clinton, 49, from Chorlton.

Witnesses say two tyres on a green Ford Focus burst, when the driver was trying to perform a U-turn, causing the car to crash through barriers into a pedestrian area outside the hospital.
At least one other passer-by is thought to be receiving hospital treatment and police have said there may be other walking wounded at the scene just off West Didsbury’s main Burton Road.
Officers were called at 2.05pm following a wave of 999 calls. The pedestrian walkway leading to the hospital has been cordoned off.
The witness, who works close by, said: “Two victims were under the car and a third victim had also been hit. It reminds you that you mustn’t take life for granted.”
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that two people involved in the incident had been taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary.
A GMP statement said: “It is a collision between a car and a number of pedestrians on the car park of the hospital.”
The two women suffered life-threatening injuries and both died in hospital shortly following the crash.
The police said: “There may be a number of more walking wounded people.”
A spokeswoman for the North West Ambulance Service added: “We are still on the scene. It is a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.”
“We sent a rapid response vehicle and a couple of ambulances.”
An 89-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
