The Gin Festival was formed by 2012 by West Yorkshire couple Jym and Marie Harris, who run events across the entire country.

It is the fourth straight year that the festival will be held at Victoria Baths, which is based on Hathersage Road, Manchester.

The Baths is a listed Edwardian swimming pool and Turkish Baths complex that is currently being restored for public use after closure in 1993.

Following a ten year period where it remained empty, it won £3.4 million worth of funding from ITV television show in 2003 in order to help its restoration project.

Laura Walsh, who works as an Event Assistant for the festival, said: ‘’The festivals give the individuals at each location a chance to learn and explore the ever-expanding world of gin as well as show-casing some beautiful local venues.

‘’We bring over 100 gins to each festival and aim for as many of those gins to be unique and unusual.

‘’Most people by now have heard of your standard Gordon’s and Bombay Sapphire, but our aim is to open up people’s eyes.

‘’At each event we also try and include some local products that customers may or may not have seen before.
