At the start of the season, even the most die hard Devils fan could not have predicted the season would pan out the way it has so far.

Only missing out on a top eight finish last season, due to a points deduction and then only staying up thanks to a golden point drop goal, most pundits predicted a season fighting in the bottom to avoid relegation.

Ian Watson has transformed the team and made them look like true contenders though.

Away wins at Wigan, Hull FC and Warrington, as well as impressive home wins against Catalan Dragons, Leeds Rhinos and league leaders Castleford Tigers have set a platform that is finally getting the dedicated home fans believing.

They have also made it to the semi final of the Ladbrokes Challenge cup, where they will face Wigan at the Halliwell Jones stadium.

With a number of their stars tied to long term contracts, the usual turn over of players appears to be a thing of the past as well.

Niall Evalds became the latest to put pen to paper on a new three year deal to stay at the AJ Bell.

The only blight on the season has been the rumoured re-branding of the club.

With owner Dr Marwan Koukash undertaking a survey of fans to try and ascertain just what they feel, and then telling Sky Sports Brian Carney that nothing will be decided until the end of the season, the fans are once again left in limbo.
