Salford Quays will be home to the taster session of GM Active and Urban Attack’s Urban Revolution obstacle course for one day only.

The event will be happening today, with over 30 obstacles for the brave hearted to try out.

TV Presenter of ITVs Biggest Loser and ex SAS officer, Rob Edmond will be hosting the event.

Edmond spoke to Quays about his involvement in the day: “I’ll be hosting a session 1-1:45 for anyone starting out in fitness and it’s an opportunity to give them a few ideas about how to train.”

Everyone is welcome, we want people of all fitness levels and abilities to come down on Friday, get involved and have fun.”

The taster session will be the first glimpse of the new collaboration between GM Active and Edmond’s company Urban Attack, before their big event in Wigan on 11 November 2017.

Urban Revolution spoke to Quays News about the action packed afternoon they have planned: “There’s some great challenges in store, ranging from wading through water, through to climbing over hurdles and walls. All will be challenging but also enjoyable.

“It’s free, it’s fun, helps you get fit and it’s different from going to the gym or taking part in fitness classes.

“What better way to spend your afternoon getting fit, enjoying yourself and meeting some new people!”

Urban Revolution will unveil their newest obstacle, ‘Take Off’, which is a giant slide which will launch people into the air, before they land in the Quays.

The giant mega slide is the size of “two terrace houses” and it has even been voted ‘The best slide in an obstacle course’.

Urban Revolution is expecting 300-400 people to drop by and test out their new obstacles, with obstacle course races (OCR) becoming the fastest growing sport in the world.

The taster session will help Urban Revolution plan their big event, by gaining feedback from those that take part.

The event will be held at Helly Hansen Watersports Centre, Salford Quays, between 12 and 4pm today.

For further details about the event and to register for free just go to Urban Revolutions registration page.

As part of their OCR series, Salford Quays will be home to a bigger and better obstacle course next year.
