Manchester’s Cake and Bake Show arrived at Event City as Candice Brown joined other ex-Great British Bake Off stars and cooking celebrities to meet and teach baking fanatics.
Cooking and baking demonstrations were in abundance as celebs such as Rosemary Shrager, Gregg Wallace and Howard Middleton took to the stage to show off their skills and recipes.
Speaking to Candice Brown
Candice Brown was star of the show after winning the 2016 Great British Bake Off.
Featuring on the main stage of Manchester’s Cake and Bake show, Candice taught visitors how to make a boozy Black Forest Gateaux before taking part in a book signing for her newly released cook book called Comfort: Delicious Bakes.

In an exclusive interview she spoke about her life since leaving the tent:
“Life’s been pretty insane. It’s been amazing, I’ve just been given the most amazing opportunities.”
Ex-GBBO contestants and celebrity appearances
The show spanned across 4 days and a whole host of stars made appearances over this time.
Ex-GBBO stars Selasi, Howard Middleton and Paul Jagger joined Gino D’Campo, Gregg Wallace, Rosemary Shrager and The Baker Brothers at the show.
All of the guests spent time mingling with fans and demonstrating their recipes on the main baking academy stage.
The ‘Baking with a Legend’ demonstration tent was a real hit with crowds. It gave fans the chance to have an intimate cooking experience with the celebrities.

Narnia experience at The Cake and Bake Show
Last year Louise Haythornthwaite and her team of dedicated bakers brought an incredible Beatrix Potter installation to the show, they decided to go bigger and better this year with a Narnia Installation.
“There were 14 of us this year so we decided to narrow it down to The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Casbian and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.”
“We wanted to make it a bit more magical, so we have the wardrobe this year, the sleigh and all the real Christmas trees.” – Louise Haythornthwaite
Louise was in charge of one of the most challenging sculptures this year, the Lion, the biggest cake she’d ever made, taking up around 100 hours of her time.
The installation was a massive success as visitors posed for pictures with their favourite sculptures and relived their childhood dreams.
Yearly amateur baking competiton
It wasn’t just about admiring the celebs, the yearly amateur baking competition brought some incredible ‘showstoppers’ to Event City.

The show was a massive success as hundreds of people visited over the 4-days. With so much cake on offer, samples were demolished by the crowds who visited to immerse themselves in treats.
