AFTER a record breaking career, James Anderson named Lancashire’s Ashes Hero as he is selected as England vice-captain for the Ashes 2017.

Integral to the last three Ashes victories, he became the first England bowler to reach 500 test wickets.

It is widely expected that Anderson will break the record for the most test wickets by a fast bowler.

He has had a stand at his home club Lancashire which has been named after him.

This was unveiled during the South Africa test series earlier on in the year.

Lancashire have a good record when it comes to producing some of England’s top talent, with the likes of Michael Atherton and Freddie Flintoff being other prime examples.

With the Ashes looming, Anderson will want to live up to this expectation and continue his fine bowling career with England starting with the first Ashes 2017 match next Thursday in Brisbane.
