Today, Manchester Village came out to support the LGBT Foundation in PayPal’s Christmas Turkey Dash and their Aardman Animations created turkey, Rainbow Rebel.

This Christmas PayPal are hosting a Turkey Dash campaign involving eight CGI animated turkeys, each will be representing a PayPal Giving Fund Charity.

The LGBT Foundation will be competing against some big names including; RNLI and Save the Children.

The public will help the turkeys train for a race, which will be broadcasted in a two-minute advert on prime Channel 4 airtime on Friday, 15th December.

The more donations a turkey receives, the faster it will run. The Turkey with the most donations will come first.

Money raised from the 28th November and the 15th December will help the LGBT Foundation continue to deliver services for LGBT people across Greater Manchester and beyond.

The LGBT Foundation need donations to continue to provide their helpline, counselling services, sexual health programme, domestic abuse support, and their substance misuse project.

Manchester Village came out in full force on Canal Street for a ‘Turkey Training Session’ with Belinda Scandal leading the Village Spartans, Manchester Frontrunners, Manchester Leathermen and other village favourites in a fun and fabulous kick start to their campaign.

The chair of LGBT Foundation Smyth Harper, said:  ”Today on Canal Street we’ve been launching ‘Turkey Dash’ which is a really exciting Christmas campaign that is being organised by PayPal.

”PayPal have selected eight great charities and we are all going to compete against each other with our amazing Aardman created Turkeys.

”Our little turkey Rainbow Rebel has been in training to win the race because the more money you donate the more chance Rainbow Rebel has of winning.

”Its a really great and fun way of doing what we do at Christmas which is giving and helping others, LGBT Foundation helps huge amounts of people every single year and supporting the Turkey Dash is not only a chance to have a bit of fun, but also provide lifesaving support for people who need it.”

The ‘Turkey Training Session’ was a way for LGBT Foundation to raise awareness of their campaign and to introduce their animated Turkey Rainbow Rebel in the hope of receiving donations so their turkey can come first in the race.
