GREATER Manchester was hit by Storm Caroline last night, causing bad weather and traffic jams this morning.

A yellow warning of snow has been issued for Manchester until Sunday, but snow, hailstone and lots of wind swept the streets of the North West overnight.

The severe weather has caused traffic problems around Manchester this morning.

There have been delays anticlockwise on the M60 at junction 17 for Prestwich and Whitefield, after a vehicle broke down there earlier this morning.

Storm Caroline
Roads have been slow this morning. This is Junction 27 on M60 anticlockwise just after 9:00.

Roads in Salford such as Broad Street and Frederick Road have also been slow moving, after a break down.

All lanes are now clear and congestion free.
