The Salford Museum and Art Gallery have opened an exhibition by Urban Sketchers Manchester, called ‘One Drawing at a Time: Salford and Manchester’.

The exhibition showcases the work of the best drawers from members of the Manchester group of Urban Sketchers.

On Saturday 3rd February Simone Ridyard, founder of Urban Sketchers Manchester, is giving a talk at Salford Museum and Art Gallery on the origins of Urban Sketching and how it has become so popular.

The talk is at 12.00pm-3.00pm and is free to attend, however, the museum recommends that everyone registers their place to ensure they can fit you in.

She was introduced to Urban Sketching in 2012 during a teaching exchange in Temasek Polytechinc in Singapore.

Simone Ridyard set up Urban Sketchers Manchester once she returned, she focuses on reportage and on location, in-situ drawing.

Following on from the talk, there is an opportunity to meet some of the artists from Urban Sketchers Manchester.

The exhibition opened on the 9th December 2017 and finishes on the 10th June 2018.
