It wasn’t a great weekend for Salford’s football teams, as fans saw one game postponed shortly before kickoff and high-scoring defeats for two others.
Salford City were hosting Tamworth at the Peninsula Stadium on Saturday until a frozen pitch called off the match just prior to kick off.
Elsewhere, Irlam welcomed AFC Darwen to Silver Street in the Hallmark Premier League, but lost in an action-packed encounter.
Boothstown were also beaten significantly by Chadderton Reserves in the Manchester Football League Division One.
Salford City – POSTPONED – Tamworth (H)

Salford City were due to host Tamworth in a National League North clash, but shortly before kick off the referee chose to abandon the match due to a frozen part of the pitch.
The club announced on social media: “Salford City apologise for all the inconvenience caused. Unfortunately the match referee has taken the decision that the pitch could be dangerous and it is not the club’s decision.”
However, in a gesture of good will, managers Bernard Morley and Anthony Johnson donated the unused match day food to a homeless charity.

In front of a crowd of 88 at Silver Street, Irlam watched their team fall quickly behind in their Hallmark Premier League match against AFC Darwen.
John Leeming, Karl Turner and Ryan Steele all netted inside the first fifteen minutes for the visitors.
Connor Martin and Jordan Icely then scored in the 30th and 35th minutes to get Irlam back into the contest, before Steele converted a 40th minute penalty to make the scoreline 4-2 to Darwen at halftime.
Icely scored again shortly after the interval in the action-packed encounter, before a 77th minute strike by Jack Prince ensured the points for Darwen.

Boothstown were easily brushed aside by Chadderton Reserves in their Manchester Football League Division One away fixture.
The visitors saw Chadderton’s joint top-scorer Ashley Ainsworth net four goals in the fixture.
Chadderton’s other top goalscorer, Niall Barnes, also netted a hattrick in the match as the Salford visitors were well beaten.
Goals for Jake Jacobs and Jack Shaw finished off the rout.
