ON Sunday evening, live music venue Night People hosted its 9th creative arts event. The event saw artists, musicians, record labels and more from all walks of the creative industry bundle together, for an evening of live music and networking.
“Event No.09 will see three special showcase acts from some of Manchester’s finest underground musicians. This will be alongside a Manchester Art Month take over in our second room. These events are designed to be an inclusive and relaxing networking opportunity for all.”
The event took place to help everybody in the creative industry connect with their interests and seek new opportunities. The £10 fee to enter the event was to raise money for a local charity called The Christie. This will help fund art therapy for patients there. Campaigners brought attention to domestic violence issues and said: “Domestic violence happens to men and women. It is important that we raise awareness and start behaving as human beings to stop the issue from growing. The number has risen from 2 cases a week to 4 and we need to start behaving to bring this number down.”
The organiser of the event said: “Launching in 2014 our networking events have become a staple event on the creative industry calendar. It’s allowing connecting, collaboration and innovation across many creative fields.”

Transgender electro-pop musician Husk took to the stage, playing sombre and experimental dance tracks from his debut self-titled mixtape. Def Neon then took the stage with experimental rock music endorsed with synth sonic sounds hoping to secure a record deal.

The event was organised by Manchester Creative Industry, which promotes creativity with confidence. The Manchester Creative Arts industry is a tough place to be noticed. The event brought creative people to attention and was a great opportunity for those faces to be seen and to be heard. In their latest article, they express the importance of creative individuals putting themselves out into the creative field.
This may be the ninth event, but it certainly won’t be the last. Night People is local live music venue in Manchester. They allow local bands from all genre’s of music to show off their latest material. Home to the legendary Twisted Wheel Club, it is amongst the clubs in Manchester voted best night out. It is great for anyone who loves the indie/alternative side to music and is located just behind Manchester’s Gay Village. It can be accessed via Oxford Road or Manchester Piccadilly train station with a ten-minute walk.
