Cadishead Rhinos dominate Salford nomination box

The Cadishead Rhinos have enjoyed a very successful year as a club and capped it off with three Greater Manchester sports awards, dominating the Salford nominee category, including a winner in disabled sporting achiever of the year Danny Royle, but who actually are The Cadishead Rhinos?

The Rhino’s are a Rugby League team who have been established since 1993, now playing their home games up at Lords Street. Having gone through a couple of identity’s and homes The Rhino’s are now well established as a force to be reckoned with within Greater Manchester.

As the only established Rugby League team between Cadishead and Irlam it took the team who used to go by the name ‘Cadishead George’ a couple of years to get going but now they boast an impressive seven age group junior teams and a lady’s team to complement their already madly competitive men’s team.

But if your’e curious to know the origins of The Rhino’s story, here is a quick whistle stop tour.

With a whopping 17 club sponsors and a brand new club house after years of planning The Rhino’s only look to get bigger.

With lots of work going into the grass roots level of the sport including summer sports camps for the community, after school clubs and more opportunities for both genders, it looks like the club is here to stay.
