With the Easter holidays just around the corner, Salford is playing host to a wide range of events to keep children busy. Here are the top nine including water sports, acting and Easter egg hunts.

The Spring Garden at the Lowry Outlet

The Lowry is being changing into a spring garden to celebrate Easter with magical characters making a visit.

Children can have their faces painted by a talented face painter to create spring flowers.

A caricaturist will be their to hand draw visitors and many more discoveries will be there.

The event is free and for all ages and and is running between 1-17 April at 11am-4pm.

Family Film Club at Little Hulton Library

The library will be hosting a family film club on Saturday 13 April at 10am.

The films are based on popular children’s books so are U or PG classifications.

No booking or fee is required but refreshment will be sold at a small charge.

Children under 7 years old need to be accompanied by an adult.

 

Leisure and sport programes at Co-op Academy Walkden

The academy are running sporting and leisure activities from 1-12 April from 10am-3pm.

The activities range from football on a 3G pitch and arts and crafts which cost £3 a day.

The event is suitable for children 8 years old and over and each child must bring a packed lunch.

Easter Bunny Trial at Ordsall Hall

A trial for all ages searching for hidden rabbits around the grounds of Ordsall Hall and gardens.

The trial will have a series of riddles that will have to be answered to win the reward at the end.

The event costs £2 and is running between 1 April-21 April.

Goldilocks and The Three Bear Plus at Walkden Library

A great play for all the family at Walkden Library!

The play is a comedic retelling of Goldilocks and the Three Bear using a 6ft tall book.

There are two showings of the play on 12 April at 11am-12pm and 2-3pm.

The event costs £4 and booking is required at communityleisure.co.uk

 

Toys through time at Salford Museum and Art Gallery

The museum is showing how children’s toys have changed over the years with traditional toys from the past.

There will not be a screen in sight as they take you back in time to see the simpler toys.

The event is running every Tuesday 10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm.

It costs £1.50 for a toy kit and no booking is required.

Aqua activities at Helly Hansen Watersports Centre

A morning full of watersports including kayaking, canoeing, stand up paddle boarding, sailign and raft building.

The activities are running on 8 April-12 April from 9:30am-12:30pm and are availble for children between 8-16 years old.

The activities will cost £80.

Play Streets at Peel Park Pavillion

Free crafts and sports events are being hosted at Peel Park Pavillion for 5-11 year olds.

It includes other events such as cooking, gaming and gardening.

Specialist dance and drama camp at St Ambrose Barlow RC High School

The classes include drama, music, dance and sport activities with qualified professionals for 2 weeks.

The event is running 1 April-4 April for 5-12 year olds and on 8 April-11 April for 5-12 year olds.

There are two different times at the sessions which cost different prices:

8am-6pm will cost £68 for four days or £20 per day

9am-3.30pm will cost £44 for four days or £15 per day

Children should bring their own packed lunch but a light breakfast and afternoon snack will be provided for those attending the 8am-6pm camp.
