A-script-in-hand performance of Jim Cartwright’s Is There Anybody There? took place in Salford University’s New Adelphi theatre last week.

‘Is There Anybody There?’ follows the lives of a group of northern women on zero hour contracts, the play explores the ethics behind this line of work and the problems that can arise from them.

The play starred actors from Coronation Street and Cold Feet, as well as award winning playwright Jim Cartwright.

Contribution towards the work-in-process play included work from students of Salford University.

From bus stops to toilet cubicles, the set design students played an important role in allowing the play to come to life even more.

Project manager, Rachael Smith described the experience as “a really proud moment”. She also mentioned how working on the play provided students with essential experience to take with them on future projects.
