A man has been charged with two counts of assault following a stabbing on Worsley Road in Salford.

Tyler Blakeley of Strawberry Road, Pendleton, has been charged with two counts of section 18 assault and one count of possession of an offensive weapon.

He has been remanded to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court later on today. (Friday 12 April 2019).

At around 23.30pm on Saturday 30 March 2019, police were called by the ambulance service to reports that two men had been stabbed at The Vulcan Inn pub on Worsley Road North in Walkden.

The charge follows a recent rise of knife crime in the country, with recent high profile case in both London and Greater Manchester.

The action shows that Greater Manchester Police are actively tackling knife crime, with arrests being made.
