A £26 million Watergardens development at Salford Quays has got the go-ahead.

A new waterside dining concept will see the transformation of the southern waterfront next to the Lowry Outlet  maximising waterside views in Salford Quays.

Designed by Chapman Taylor, the development will blend natural features, such as planted landscaping and improved natural light within the urban environment.

There will be a re-clad of some of the exterior in a similar style to the nearby Alchemist bar, while the existing entrance to the Vue Cinema will be improved.

Existing trees will be thinned out; allowing for much-improved views across the water.

We asked people around Salford Quays their thoughts on the new development:

Lifestyle Outlets will also build a new waterfront promenade which will connect the Millennium Bridge to the Lowry Outlet.

The project, which has the go-ahead from Salford Council, is expected to create 150 new jobs and substantially boost the community and Salford’s retail, leisure and dining scene.
