Councillor Charlie McIntyre, Ceremonial Mayor of Salford, recently visited the Kidzrus nursery at MediaCityUK.

The Ceremonial Mayor presented the Kidzrus Nursery Director, Nicola Fleury, with the highly prestigious ‘National Day Nurseries Association Outstanding Contribution Award’ during the visit.

The nursery won the award at a celebration of the Early Years sectors achievements in Warwickshire last month.

Whilst on the visit, Councillor McIntyre went on a tour of the nursery as well as being teated to a song from the children. The sweet rendition of “You are my sunshine” from the Kidzrus children clearly delighted the Ceremonial mayor.

Nicola Fleury described the visit and how much it meant to the children of the nursery.

“The children really enjoyed the visit and asked lots of lovely questions, they were particularly interested in his beautiful chain.

“We spoke about the amazing diversity that we have in our nurseries including the children, parents and staff teams and the wonderful support we offer to parents and families. We also talked about the staff importance of staff well-being and empowering our staff and children that they can do or be anything they want to.

“At Kidzrus we offer opportunities and choices to all children, although safeguarding is at the forefront of everything we do. The occasion also marked the start of our ‘Community Week’.”

Kidzrus Nursery is located at MediaCityUK and accommodate unto 90 children of various ages.
