The leader of the Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn, was introduced by Salford MP and Labour Shadow Secretary of State for Business, Rebecca Long-Bailey to announce the Labour Party manifesto for the upcoming election.

The manifesto, which features a £10 national minimum wage for all workers and free broadband across the country, was announced in Birmingham this morning.

Long-Bailey spoke passionately before introducing Mr Corbyn, she said at the announcement that “Birmingham, like Salford where I’m from, was the engine room of Britain’s first industrial revolution.” And that the manifesto will “support people, businesses and industries.”

This manifesto was described as a “manifesto of hope” by Jeremy Corbyn at the announcement, with the campaign slogan ‘it’s time for a real change’ supporting this.

Rebecca Long-Bailey has been the Salford and Eccles MP since 2015 and has worked closely with Mr Corbyn as a member of his shadow cabinet.

Along with the announcement of the manifesto Mr Corbyn urged people to register to vote before the deadline on the 26th of November.

With the unresolved issue of Brexit and the outcome of this election looking somewhat uncertain this could arguably be one of the most important elections the country has seen.
