Students from all universities in Greater Manchester are being encouraged to talk about student safety for the first time in a ‘Student Safety Session’.

The event is being held on Thursday November 28th at Manchester Metropolitan University’s The Union from 5:30pm-8pm.

A panel featuring Andy Burnham, Major of Greater Manchester, Sacha Lord, Night Time Economy Advisor for Greater Manchester and Co-Founder of Warehouse Project and Parklife festival, and student representatives will be discussing the safety of students, especially on a night out.

Organisers are offering free drinks in return for student’s contribution to the discussion.

DJ, television and radio host, Annie Mac, has endorsed the event:

“Safety on a night out is so important; whether we’re clubbing or just going out with friends. We have to look out for each other! I’m delighted that for the first time, all the universities across Greater Manchester are coming together, along with the Mayor, Andy Burnham, to start openly talking about safety issues on a night out, and creating something that can be spread around the whole city region.”

Tickets are available on Eventbrite here:
