Students from all universities in Greater Manchester are being encouraged to talk about student safety for the first time in a ‘Student Safety Session’.
The event is being held on Thursday November 28th at Manchester Metropolitan University’s The Union from 5:30pm-8pm.
A panel featuring Andy Burnham, Major of Greater Manchester, Sacha Lord, Night Time Economy Advisor for Greater Manchester and Co-Founder of Warehouse Project and Parklife festival, and student representatives will be discussing the safety of students, especially on a night out.
Organisers are offering free drinks in return for student’s contribution to the discussion.
DJ, television and radio host, Annie Mac, has endorsed the event:

I’m delighted that for the first time, all the universities across Greater Manchester are coming together, along with the Mayor, Andy Burnham, to start openly talking about safety issues on a night out, and creating something that can be spread around the whole city region.”
