On Saturday 23rd November Transcend Therapies in Monton hosted a ‘pop up pre-loved fashion and homeware’ event.

The event was to raise money to help fund ‘Transcend in the Community CIC’, a local organisation, that provides free health and well-being classes and workshops. Specialist classes are due to be carried out for elderly people, families with low-incomes and anyone suffering with mental health in the community.

The fair had a wide range of stalls and was set up in the basement of the 6/ Cut Pizza Place including vintage clothes and shoes, boutique jewellery and accessories and unique homeware items.

In total Transcend managed to raise more than £100. The organisers have decided to make this event a regular fund raiser for ‘Transcend in the Community CIC’. The next pre-loved sale is due to take place in February.

One woman who attended the fair said: “It is a lovely idea for an amazing cause, I’ve just picked up some nice costume jewellery for my daughter and this gorgeous scarf with the Manchester bee print on it. I’m thinking of trying some reiki sessions with my sister.”

Transcend organise other unique events within the community throughout the year. Their next event is a ‘Winter Well-being’ open day at the studio, 222a Monton Road, Eccles, M30 9LJ on Saturday 7th December. This event will offer £10 taster sessions on reiki, massages, reflexology, Bowen therapy and even hypnotherapy. There will also be a range of stalls selling festive gifts and holistic products.
