Salford Survivor Project is appealing for donations of Christmas gifts.

The charitable service offers help, information and support for people who are presently, or have in the past, been in an abusive or violent relationship.

It is accepting donations of food hampers, toiletries, and toys amongst other things.

Speaking to Salford Now, a spokesperson for Salford Survivor Project said: ‘We are collecting for 20 families who we have worked closely with.

‘If people donate to us it means we can provide these families with a decent Christmas that they deserve after the trauma they have endured.

‘Without the donations these families are likely to end up with nothing this Christmas.

‘To us seeing that these families enjoy Christmas is really important. Many of them have had to start from fresh and have very little possessions or money because of the abuse they have been through.’

If you wish to donate, you can do so by dropping gifts off at the Beacon Centre, on London Street.
