On The Masked Singer final, presenter and comedian Jason Manford was unmasked as the Hedgehog placing second.

Last Saturday night saw the final of ITV’s The Masked Singer, a show challenging celebrities to sing as we guess their real identities.

Among the famous faces was The Darkness front-man Justin Hawkins, actress Denise Van Outen and former Home Secretary Alan Johnson.

In the final Manford performed Justin Timberlake’s ‘Cry Me A River’ and Little Mix’s ‘Black Magic’ before being finally unmasked.

After being unmasked Manford said: “I’ve just loved this show, it’s been fabulous.”

During the show Jason Manford put on a posh accent leading viewers to believe Michael Ball or Alfie Boe was behind the mask.

Manford placed second in the competition behind Girls Aloud singer, Nicola Roberts who was unmasked as Queen Bee.

Manford said: “I chose [Hedgehog] because the outfit is great, it already had its own personality and I thought ‘yes, that’s the one for me.

“My masked singer experience, it’s been so much fun I’ve not told anybody genuinely because I didn’t want to ruin the fun for everyone.”

The show allowed celebrities like Manford who weren’t known for singing to have a shot at something they wouldn’t usually do.

On being in the final Manford said: “It feels really good, I didn’t expect it… I do sing but I’m not a singer so it’s really exciting.”

Jason Manford is currently touring as part of Curtains, a musical comedy that premiered in Manchester late last year.
