Salford City host Bradford City this Saturday afternoon in League Two as they look to keep their slim hopes of making the play-offs alive.

Salford City’s debut season in the EFL has been at times encouraging but somewhat blighted by inconsistent results and uncertainty over the long term future of manager Graham Alexander.

Despite this, they still have an off chance of making the play-offs come May time and so with just 10 games remaining, a win at home to fellow play-off hopefuls Bradford is crucial.

If Alexander’s side are going to keep the momentum going from last weekend’s 2-0 win away to struggling Macclesfield Town, they are going to have to sort out their abysmal home form that has seen them not win at the Peninsula since Boxing Day.

Salford have favoured away days this campaign in their first ever season in the football league and are unbeaten in their last five league games on the road.

Therefore, Salford’s Class of 92 owners will know that they need to make the Peninsula a fortress next season to build on the strong foundations away from home this season.

Ash Hunter the Ammies goal scorer from the Macclesfield game last weekend spoke to Salford’s media after the game.

He said: “I’m enjoying it since I came in and it’s just nice to be playing football.

“We’re just taking it a game at a time, trying to win as many games as we can, focusing on the next game, we’re not thinking about what’s ahead apart from the next game.”

Salford also have a return to Wembley to look forward soon in the Football League Trophy Final as they face League One promotion hopefuls Portsmouth on April 4th.

However, their focus will be fully on the League at the moment as they look to book a third trip to Wembley in two years via the League Two play-offs.

Tickets for the Bradford game can be purchased on Salford’s website or from the clubs ticket office on Thursday or between 10-11:30 am this Saturday before the game.
