A Salford walking and cycling meeting will be held at Sacred Trinity Church on Tuesday 31st March at 6:30pm.

It will last for approximately two hours with tea and coffee refreshments available from 6:15pm.

It will be an opportunity for local residents to get together and discuss the schemes in place and what Salford City Council and its partners are working on to help improve walking and cycling around the city of Salford.

These walking and cycling schemes are being part-funded by Greater Manchester Mayor’s Cycling and Walking Challenge Fund which is a £160 million fund to deliver Beelines – Greater Manchester’s cycling and walking infrastructure plan.

On the agenda this month are the topics and presentations: updates on the current Bee Network schemes, Living Streets and their work within Salford, TfGM and their local high street research, mobility services and Walk Ride Salford.

The meetings will be held on a regular basis of every three months to keep residents up-to-date and informed on any walking and cycling schemes for their local neighbourhoods. It is also an opportunity for councils in Greater Manchester to submit new schemes for funding approval every three months.

Some of the schemes around Salford which have secured funding will see developments in areas such as: Monton Village, Swinton Greenway, Trafford Road, Barton Aqueduct, Ordsall Filtered Neighbourhood Project and junctions in Swinton and Walkden, amongst more.
