Sale Sharks Women have announced the double signing of former England U20 Laura Perrin and Ulster Rugby player Vicky Irwin as they continue to bolster their outfit ahead of their first season in the Tyrells Premier 15s.

Both women become the latest additions to an exciting team that already boasts the likes of England’s World Cup-winning captain Katy Daly-Mclean and Scottish international Mhairi Grieve.

And former England U20 representative Perrin is itching to hit the ground running with Sale.

Perrin said: ““I’m delighted to be joining Sale Sharks Women having followed the club since childhood. It will be fantastic to be involved with a high-performance women’s rugby outfit, that will inspire women and girls across the region. “We are looking forward to what she can do in a Sale Sharks shirt.”

And Perrin will be joined by Vicky Irwin, who Sale have signed from Ulster Women.

Irwin is hoping to developing as a player and believes Sale Sharks Women will offer a great opportunity to do just that.

She said: “I’m really excited for the opportunity to join Sale Sharks Women, and challenge myself in the Tyrrells Premier 15s competition.

“I’m looking forward to getting started and learning from the coaches and the more experienced players in the squad.”
