Christopher Rice is a Masters Student at the University of Salford but has returned to work on the NHS frontline during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Having gone back to Northern Ireland, he is working on the covid ward, as a domestic in the Downe Hospital in Downpatrick.

With good days and bad days, he credits the support of colleagues and the public, for keeping spirits up.

He said: “There are times when it has been tough, but there is a real team spirit in work that keeps everyone going. We really feel like we are all in this together.

The support and praise from the public has also been amazing, albeit quite strange as we feel like we are just doing our jobs.

Christopher’s job involves cleaning covid patient’s rooms, and serving them tea and coffee’s and collecting their dishes.

Here, he keeps an audio diary of what it is like to be working on the frontline.
