Salford brewery Seven Brothers has raised more than £10,000 for a foundation that supports charities for people living with cancer through the sales of its Good Day IPA drink.

Good Day IPA has been sold in Seven Brothers beer houses and on the online store. Sixty pence from each drink goes directly to the The Tim Bacon Foundation.

Tim Bacon was a renowned restaurateur in Manchester. Following his death in 2017 from cancer, The Tim Bacon Foundation Charity was established to donate money to cancer support charities.

Keith McAvoy, CEO of Seven Brothers, said: “The Tim Bacon Foundation celebrates Tim’s legacy within the hospitality sector and his legendary generosity lives on its work. We are proud to be part of a special community working together to keep his memory alive.

“Tim loved beer and we think he’d have loved a pint of Good Day IPA. With the support of our punters, this beer partnership has continued to raise money throughout the pandemic. It is great to support a charity close to our hearts at time where so many are facing great hardship.”

Charity executive Jane Atherton told Salford Now: “The partnership with Seven Brothers has been fantastic and we are extremely grateful for their help and generosity, as well as the distributors and the bars and restaurants stocking it.  Since it launched in January we have raised £10,000 which is amazing.”

The drink combines traditional English with modern American IPA styles, producing mango and fresh citrus flavours.

Seven Brothers IPA has two beerhouses: one at the Waybridge Enterprise Centre and the other in Manchester.

Taprooms are currently open Fridays 4-10pm & Saturdays 1-10pm.
