Krisnan Inu

Two Salford Red Devils players have been awarded for their efforts this past season, with Krisnan Inu and Rhys Williams winning Player of the Season and Try of the Season respectively.

Inu in particular has received acclaim from the rest of the League, as the 33-year-old has been named as part of the Super League’s ‘Dream Team’, recognising the 13 best players in the division over the past year.

With 9 tries and 102 conversions in 27 games, Inu amassed 241 points in all competitions, justifying his inclusion at Centre position in the Dream Team.

In addition to his league efforts, Inu has received further acclaim by the Salford Red Devils’ Supporters’ Trust.

As voted by the Trust’s members, New Zealander Inu scooped the top prize of their ‘Player of the Season’. This is all in his maiden season for Salford Red Devils, after he arrived back in March 2019 from the Widnes Vikings.

With increased speculation from fans about Inu’s contract status, it is hoped that he will return to the Red Devils for the new season, which commences in November and will conclude next June.

Meanwhile, winger Rhys Williams received the ‘Try of the Season’ accolade from the Supporters’ Trust, with his effort against Leeds Rhinos in October’s Challenge Cup final.

With Salford down 6-0 in the first half, a handover of the ball found its way to Williams, who dashed unchallenged and unmarked to the try line. Nicknamed ‘The Dragon’, the Welsh International’s speed was something to behold, despite Salford’s defeat to the Rhinos in last month’s final at Wembley.

Huge congratulations must be given to Inu, Williams, and the rest of the Salford Red Devils for their hard work and effort in this season’s Super League!
