A Salford student who was refused a maintenance loan is creating adult content for OnlyFans to support her studies.

Nineteen-year-old Clarice (not her real name) uses Only Fans to pay her way.

She said: “I don’t have a maintenance loan due to some immigration issues, so most of my money goes to buying books for the course or my studies.”

Creators of online adult content can be forced into it by financial hardship but Clarice really enjoys her line of work.

“I really do. Every time I do a photo shoot or a video I feel very empowered, it helps with my self-esteem too, it’s like giving myself time to feel sexy and hot when I don’t feel like it, but on my own terms.”

However, Clarice’s least favourite part of being a content creator is dealing with “the idiots”.

She said: “I had one of my followers message me privately telling me how badly he wanted to r*pe me. But at the end of the day, it’s only a few people who say stupid things.”

@Lydiafawnxo is an Only Fans and Instagram content creator explains what Only Fans is and how she uses it.

Lydia Fawn, a 23-year-old Only Fans content creator, says: “Only Fans is a website similar to any other sort of social media, but people will pay to see it.

“But, the way that I use it, I charge five dollars a month and then they can see anything on my feed – I post anywhere from underwear pictures, fully nude videos to full-on p*rn”

A 2019 study from ‘Save The Student’ showed that twice as many students are using sex work to support their studies than in 2017.

One in 25 students admitted to trying sex work to support their studies.

Titch, Only Fans creator speaking about how many people think sex workers are uneducated.

Titch, a 28-year-old Only Fans creator, said people think she is ‘the exception, not rule’ when it comes to sex workers being educated. She got into stripping back in 2008 to fund her psychology degree.

The content creator found herself in times of financial hardship during university. She had no contact or support from her parents.

“The only help I received was a one-off payment of £300 from the university.

“Everywhere wanted me to work full time. Stripping was the only thing that worked around my classes.’
