Salford City will hope to build some consistent results after a mixed first half to their Sky Bet League Two campaign and hosting Harrogate Town tonight could be the ideal start.
Newly promoted Harrogate currently sit in 18th, with The Ammies are 5th and last month Salford beat them 1-0, which shows they know how to get the better of them.
Furthermore, Salford’s defensive record has continued to improve in recent weeks and they currently have the least amount of goals conceded in the league.

Another factor for why they should be seen as big favorites are the additions they have made over the last week in the transfer market, signing two players on loan until the end of the season.
The Ammies, first of all, confirmed the signing of right-back Tom Jones from Hibernian after finishing a spell on loan at Wigan Athletic.
He scored an impressive 4 goals in 24 apperances for the latics and has previous experience in League Two with Yeovil Town.
Whilst he will face competion from fellow new signing Robbie Gotts (who made his debut at the weekend against Newport County after his loan move from Leeds) Tom Clarke and Oscar Threlkheld, it is a position very much up for grabs.
It’s been an area of heavy rotation all season, with Wellens struglling to find a consistent and regualr performer at right-back and so it’s an opportunity for Jones to make the position his own.
Speaking about the clubs loan deal, Wellens said: “He’s a very good footballer, composed, technically very good and that’s what I think he will bring to the team.”
He continued to say: “We’ve brought him in as a right back but we’re very aware that he can play as effectively on the left if required too.
“The two signings we’ve made – Robbie Gotts can play in three or four positions and Tom who’s played right back, he covered at centre-back at the weekend – they can cover multiple positions which is something we’ve needed.”

The second signing this week was announced just yesterday as experienced midfielder Paul Coutts signed from Fleetwood Town.
At the age of 32 he is coming in to add some experience to Salford’s youthful team and some quality too, having previously played for Derby County in the Championship between 2012 and 2015.

Both players were in training yesterday and could be in contention to make their debut tonight as Salford City hope to stay in the mix for an autmomatic promotion spot.
Another busy window could help them bring that consitency that has elluded them so far this season and Wellens will surely be looking to get them both involed as soon as possible.
