Healthwatch Salford is calling on community groups across the city to apply for their new fund, Salford Speak Up Fund.

Each group can apply for up to £1000 from the Speak Up Salford fund to set up activities that encourage the people they work with to give feedback on their experiences of the health and social care system in the city. Eligibility for the fund can be found on the HealthWatch Salford website.

Groups that are awarded the fund will be supported by Healthwatch Salford to capture feedback in a range of ways: from virtual workshops, telephone interviews to walk and talks.

At the end of the project, the groups will share feedback and findings with Healthwatch Salford who will report on the evidence to commissioners and propose recommendations on behalf of people in the city.

Alex Leach, Chief Officer for Healthwatch Salford, said: “It has never been more important for everyone to have their voices heard on the health and care services they receive – which is why we have launched the Speak Up Salford fund.

“The fund is an ideal opportunity for any community group or organisation to bring about positive change for the people they work with.

‘We are keen to hear from groups working with people who face barriers in accessing health and social care, and we want to create links between members of the community in Salford and those who make decisions about health and social care, to ensure that services cater to everyone in the city.”

Applications for the Speak Up Salford Fund are available now at https://www.healthwatchsalford.co.uk/news/2021-03-08/launch-speak-salford-fund and the deadline for receiving applications is Monday, May 10 at 12pm.
