A murder investigation has been launched after a 41-year-old man was found with fatal stab wounds in Eccles.

The victim was found just after 11am yesterday (Monday 12 April) in a property on Liverpool Road, after police were called to a report of a disturbance.

Detective Chief Inspector Rick Thompson of GMP’s Salford district, said: “Firstly, our thoughts are firmly with the family of the man who has sadly lost his life.

“We believe this incident to be isolated with no immediate threat to the wider community. We do understand the concern and upset incidents such as this can cause for communities and we want to reassure you we are working at pace to ensure we establish the full circumstances.

“We would appeal to anyone who may have information surrounding his death, or witnessed anything in the area around the time that you think may be crucial to our investigation to get in touch with police as a matter of urgency.”

Two men, both aged 34, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
