A screening of award-winning documentary ‘Kiss The Ground’ is to be shown as part of a wider evening discussing climate change.
It will be hosted by the University of Salford, taking place at the Chapman Building at the Peel Park Campus at the on Friday evening, starting at 16:00.
It will include a showing of the documentary, followed by a discussion on sustainability, climate action and COP26.
The documentary sheds light on an ‘new, old approach’ to farming called regenerative agriculture that has the potential to balance our climate, replenish our vast water supplies, and feed the world.
The film artfully illustrates how, by drawing down atmospheric carbon, soil is the missing piece of the climate puzzle.
Kiss the Ground are an organisation which is “committed to asking ourselves how we truly stand up for not just the soil, but all the people who stand on it, and to working together with our community to create more equity, diversity, and a movement where everyone feels honored for their contributions, both historically and moving forward.”
The film is just a small part of what the organisation do, with them also operating a Farmland Program which aims to support farmers and their work.
Snacks and drinks will be provided, although anyone that attends is encouraged to bring their own refreshments.
