Salford teenager James McAtee was on Manchester City’s bench last night as they defeated French league leaders PSG 2-1 to secure their place in the Champions League knockout stages.

City appeared to be in an uphill battle after they fell behind to a Kylian Mbappe goal.

However, they turned the game around thanks to strikes from England ace Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus.

His inclusion was thanks to a successful three-minute spell against Everton on his Premier League debut, in which he struck the side-netting.

The 19-year-old has England youth goals to his name in what is already a promising career.

In November 2020, McAtee scored in the FA Youth Cup final to help guide City to a 3-2 victory over Chelsea.

McAtee will hope he can follow in the footsteps of fellow academy graduate Phil Foden and emerge as a star for the first team.
