Mayor Paul Dennett, fresh from re-election, will now be Andy Burnham’s deputy, following Sir Richard Lease who stepped down on 1st December this year.

Mayor Dennett said “It is a huge honour and privilege to be able to support Andy as his deputy. This role provides a huge opportunity to continue with our partnership working across the city-region, building on our successes to date”

Paul Dennett who was originally elected to office in 2016, replacing Ian Stewart who was also of the Labour Party

Before his role as Mayor, he was councillor for the residents of Langworthy.

The Greater Manchester combined authority, which is led by Mayor Andy Burnham, is made of 11 elected members.
