Salford Red Devils will commence their 2022 Super League season with an away trip to the Castleford Tigers.

After an 11th place finish in the 2021 season the Red Devils will be looking to start the new season on the front foot when they trav0el to West Yorkshire.

Salford will go into the season with with optimism after a successful pre-season, beating Swinton Lions 48-12 and Halifax Panthers 34-10 before losing 30-14 to Warrington Wolves.

An added element of excitement will be added by a number of recruits making their competitive debuts in a Salford shirt. In the halves, Australian halfback Brodie Croft is set to make his Super League debut after signing from the Brisbane Broncos in August 2021. Ryan Brierley is also likely to make his debut at fullback while two more former NRL stars, most recent signing, centre Tim Lafai, and second-row Shane Wright could also debut after Lafai’s Visa was approved and he played in the last pre-season game vs Warrington.

Centres Kallum Watkins, Dan Sarginson and second-row Harvey Livett will likely miss the game through injury while winger Joe Burgess is banned.
