Gary Barlow has announced six Salford shows ahead of his new ‘theatrical one-man tour’.

The Take That front-man, who has amassed millions of fans, is set to grace The Lowry stage for six nights starting next week.

Tickets to the ‘A Different Stage’ tour, which will see Barlow tell his story in his own words, will go on sale tomorrow (February 16) at 10am.

The performances at the Lowry will run from next Tuesday (February 22) until Sunday (February 27).

Barlow said: “Now I’ve done shows where it has just been me and a keyboard. I’ve done shows where I sit and talk to people. I’ve done shows where I’ve performed as part of a group.

“But this one, well, it’s like all of those, but none of them. When I walk out this time, it’s going to be a very different stage altogether.”

The singer, songwriter will take the audience behind the curtain, with nothing off limits.

‘A Different Stage’ premiered at The Brindley in Runcorn, Cheshire, last week and was well-received by audiences.

Barlow, who has also co-written and produced music for Sir Elton John and bandmate, Robbie Williams, has recently turned in attention to the world of theatre and has created the show with friend and collaborator, Tim Firth.

The pair have worked together on ‘Calendar Girls The Musical’ and, along with his Take That bandmates, ‘The Band’, which is currently being adapted into a feature film.

During his time in Take That, Barlow has won eight BRIT Awards and sold more than 45m records. The band members initially went their separate ways in in 1996 but reunited without Robbie Williams in 2005. However, the band hasn’t performed since 2019.

Barlow will also perform his one man show at the Liverpool Playhouse in Liverpool from March 15 until March 19 and the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh from March 22 until March 27.
